The Tecnosys Story

Back in 2002 whilst the Tecnosys founder Jason Engelman was packing up his young family for a coastal change, three clients, Group Momentum, Snapper Media and Totem Communications interrupted with urgent IT requests. When word got out that Jason was providing on-site support the requests kept coming and within a month he had employed two staff members; the doors of Tecnosys  were officially opened. Seven years on and Tecnosys is now the largest provider of on-site apple mac solutions.

Whilst the family unpacked the trailer Jason and the new team set forth on delivering the three main pillars of support, fast response times, a combination of knowledge plus experience and the commitment to solve all IT issues. At that time most IT companies only supported their own products and software. One company looked after the workstations, one company for the printers, one company for the router and the list went on and on. Tecnosys was the first company that said no, when we take on a network, we take on the whole network. 

When word got out that Tecnosys could support the Xserve, the macs and the printer the entire network the phones did not stop calling. The Apple re-sellers started to call asking if we could help with their clients and clients started referring us. What did not change were the three pillars, fast response times, a team with knowledge and experience and never saying no to a problem.

Our customer’s needs have driven everything we do at Tecnosys. When Johnson and Johnson wanted monthly billing we started managed services and when one client was fed up by being put on hold with their ISP we started internet, email and website hosting. Just as important as our clients was working with a team of dedicated on-site support technicians. As the face of our company it is important that they are always up to date on technologies (gained by our in-house training department) and that they continue with our dedication to solving all IT problems. 

With a minimum of three years apple experience required before working with us our team of technicians have brought many skills and opportunities to Tecnosys. When many technicians came with a service background it only became natural to start on-site service repairs (seriously who has the time to lug a computer to a service centre) and when one technician wanted to move to Melbourne we saw it as an opportunity to start our national help desk.

Today we still continue to focus on utilising the apple mac platform and help grow our clients business via technology. Whilst it might be easier to get face time with Steve Jobs than Jason he has been busy helping a client develop the largest asset management database in Australia. And whatever happened to those three clients that gave Tecnosys their start? They are still with us, 7 years on and going strong.
